Over the last 10 years we have successfully launched CATS, The Phantom of the Opera, Buddy, SHOUT! The Legend of the Wild One and Dusty - The Original Pop Diva into the secondary theatrical market. ORiGiN™ Theatrical was the first company to launch The Phantom of the Opera into the amateur theatrical market anywhere in the world. We've also had much success launching lesser known works such as Carrie, Reefer Madness and [title of show].

THE CAST
Philip C Walker
Philip Walker is Chairman of the Sago Group, Chairman of the Origin Music Group; a non-executive Director the Australasian Music Publishers' Association Limited (AMPAL), the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners' Society Limited (AMCOS) and the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA). He has a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management. He has previously served as a Director and Honorary Treasurer of the Craft Council of New South Wales and was in practice as a Chartered Accountant, Auditor and Tax Agent from 1980 - 1998. Philip is an enthusiastic supporter of charity and non-profit organizations.
Philip is known as a music industry accounting specialist and has conducted audits and valuations in the music industry over the last 25 years.

Philip Mortlock
Joined Philip Walker in 1993 after working at Warner Music (WEA) for close to 17 years, mainly working with the Australian artists in A & R and marketing. Philip has held industry positions as a director on the board of ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association), AIR (Australian Independent Recording Association), a member of the Music Council of Australia and the National Film and Sound Archives. During Philip Mortlock's career in the music industry has been responsible for many major Australian artists as either a music publisher or record company executive some of which include INXS, Cold Chisel, Richard Clapton, Gotye, Washington and The Basics.

Kim Ransley - Managing Director
Kim initially worked in and later ran the Warner/Chappell theatrical division over a period of thirteen years. Well known within the industry, Kim understands the necessity of building relationships within this unique industry. Arriving at Warner/Chappell from a four-year stint at EMI Music Publishing with print music experience as well as the very demanding role of PA to the Managing Director. More importantly, Kim has an incredibly vast knowledge and passion for theatre, music and entertainment in general which reflects in her dealings with our theatrical clients with over 26 years' experience in theatrical licensing in Australasia.
The ORiGiN™ Music Group employed Kim to manage the newly established division ORiGiN™ Theatrical in August 2004. Since joining ORiGiN™ Theatrical Kim has successfully launched the Amateur rights in Australia and New Zealand of The Phantom of the Opera, CATS, SHOUT! The Legend of the Wild One, Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story and Dusty - The Original Pop Diva.

Nick Young - Marketing and Sales Manager
Nick has been working in the music industry in one capacity or another for over 20 years now. Starting off at Mushroom Distribution Services (a part of the Mushroom Group of Companies) before moving over to Zomba Records as head of strategic marketing. Following this came a move to Warner Music Australia where he was the Label Manager for all titles coming out of the UK and Europe. While at Warner Music he was in charge of the campaign for the first James Blunt album which sold 8 x Platinum and he also had a number of other artist albums and singles reach Number 1 on the charts. Nick has now been working at ORiGiN™ Theatrical for the last five years where he is in charge of the marketing and sales. Most recently he has been overseeing the design and implementation of a new custom built website and booking system which will streamline the day-to-day operations of the company and set us up for the years ahead.

Ashlei Carroll - Front of House
Licensing, invoicing, script sales and so much more!
If you've called or visited our office, you will have spoken to Ashlei. Ashlei started with Origin as an intern in 2015 and proved a valuable member of the team. She is a fountain of knowledge and will happily answer your licensing questions.

Damian - Warehouse/Logistics
Damian manages our on-site and off-site warehouses and all of the logistics related to the sending out and receiving back materials for your musical productions.

Amber Quin - Marketing
Amber joined Origin Theatrical in January 2014. She has a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Sydney and a Master of Strategic Marketing from the University of Wollongong in Dubai.  Amber has worked in brand marketing since 2006 with jobs in London, Dubai and Sydney. At Origin Theatrical Amber manages all things marketing including email newsletters and announcements, social media, website updates and news items, advertising, sponsorships and printed collateral. Amber has been working with Nick on managing development and implementation of the new booking system for online rights applications.

Scott Bell - Group Finance Director, Sago Group and ORiGiN™ Music Group
Scott has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia for over 20 years.  Together with a strong accounting and taxation compliance knowledge he has extensive experience in royalty accounting during the 20 years working for the Sago and ORiGiN™ group of companies. Scott oversees all business operations, financial and royalty aspects of ORiGiN™ Theatrical.
