The original book by Phil Stong caught the American imagination because it so beautifully portrayed one of the most enjoyable aspects of our life, a big fair, and it did so through the eyes of a special family, each member of which is at a turning point. The novel was so successful it inspired several motion pictures as well as a musical comedy. We're happy to be able to report that when this stage version was completed, it was sent to Mr. Stong at once, and he then sent us a telegram which read, "Splendid. Absolutely splendid!"

The play, capturing the quality of the original book, has the color and excitement of a state fair, and the surprising ways in which it changes the lives of a young man and the girl he meets and falls in love with there, all beautifully expressed in this play about American life. This is a show that audiences love, for they recognize both the people and the situations and react with pleasure to its humor and comment.
