Clarance, the golden tailed dragon, is a peace loving fellow who collects wild flowers and helps young Prince Robin with his homework and has poetry competitions with kindly old Sir Slipshod until ... evil Sir Cad and his accomplice, Lady Sorrowell, a sorceress, pursue him for his golden tail. Clarence is captured and forced to fight for his life in a tournament at court.

Everything comes out happily in the end in this delightful, whimsical fairy tale for both children and adults. The melodic score includes 'Clarence, You're a Most Exasperating Dragon', and the tender title song. Written by the authors of the hilarious Broadway musical Something's Afoot.

  • KING PILLOWPUFF - A good and kind king. He is loved by his people who forgive the fact that the crown of the state does not officially sit on his head, and that he is also a bit dithery.
    SIR CAD - A knight of the court. He is sinsterly handsome and aggressively ambitious.
    PRINCE ROBIN - The king's young son. He is an average boy who just happens to have a dragon for his best friend.
    LADY SORROWELL - A beautiful sorceress. She is willing to use her magic or trickery to obtain the power she wants.
    SIR SLIPSHOD - An older but greatly respected knight of the court. He would retire if he only could.
    CLARENCE - The last remaining golden-tailed dragon in the kingdom. A true lover of art and beauty.
