The ORiGiN Music Group

An Australian independent music company owned and managed by Philip Walker and Philip Mortlock.

The music group activities include music publishing and sub publishing, publishing administration, licensing, master tape exploitation and production.

The group of companies comprise The ORiGiN Network, ORiGiN Music Publishing, ORiGiN Recordings, Orient Pacific Music, ORiGiN Theatrical and SoundSauce .

More recently Orient Pacific Music purchased the rights to Warner/Chappell Music's Australian Theatrical Division and the majority of Warner/Chappell Music's Australian catalogue bringing to the ORiGiN Music Group a long list of prestigious and creative composers and songwriters.

The two Philip's came together in 1993 to combine their respective industry skills and develop a group of independent music companies with solid accountability and creative flair.

The substantial increase in Australian talent combined with the growing international catalogues and interests has lifted ORiGiN's profile and potential to become one of the few Australian owned and pro active independent music companies in this market.

ORiGiN Theatrical

A new division created mid 2004 with the appointment of Kim Ransley as ORiGiN's Theatrical division manager and the establishment of the exclusive representation of theatrical rights to the RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN and REALLY USEFUL GROUP catalogues.

ORiGiN Theatrical now represents some of the most successful and popular musical in the world including The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Carousel, Footloose, Oklahoma!, Show Boat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Annie Get Your Gun, I Love You You're Perfect Now Change, The King and I, Evita, Seven Little Australians, The Buddy Holly Story and Shout!
