THE SHIP TO SHORE MURDER
The blackmailing chief purser of a cruise ship is poisoned. Ahmet Altumi, chief inspector of the Istanbul police (and, surprisingly, an Episcopalian) is investigating the murder. He is clever and efficient as well as elegant. The honeymoon of the cruise director and his wife seems likely to be spoiled, because evidence points to each or both of them. They hunt for evidence that will clear them but get into deeper trouble. As you may guess, the admirable Altumi saves them and nails the murderer—efficiently and elegantly.
