ALIEN EQUATION
The first girl into outer space, Abbie Anderson of Peach Grove, Pennsylvania, is on her way to Venus as Earth's goodwill ambassador. Suddenly her rocket ship goes off course and she crash-lands on the planet Meanus, home of three perfectly awful people: Lord Groucho, Lady Grumble and Sir Groan. Abbie is imprisoned with another intruder, Zebulon Zook from Mirth. In a literal battle of wits, the two youngsters out-duel their adversaries, who eventually learn that it's more fun to be good-natured than perfectly awful. Bare stage w/props. The play revolves around Max (a modern day Einstein&bored with school, but with his mind on the cosmos) and his surprisingly successful "deuteron conductor" built of discarded milk cartons. Kept in detention after school, Max turns on his conductor and accesses Alpha Ray, a young character from Anti-Matter who is searching for the way back to his own side of the universe. Max cannot save his new friend; Alpha Ray does that for himself. But in the process, Max gets turned on to the problem. There may be more adventure in math than meets the eye! Set in a seventh-grade classroom, Alien Equation was developed in the youth theatre program of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. One int. set.Duration: 0
