"I Want To Fly"

FLIGHT OF THE LAWNCHAIR MAN

Meet Jerry Gorman. He's a thirty-four-year-old guy from Passaic, New Jersey, who just got promoted to Snack Bar Manager at Wal-Mart. His mother is thrilled, but Jerry is depressed. Deep inside, he knows he was born to achieve something extraordinary. But what?

When the quiet, suburban life of Jerry Gorman becomes too much to bear, he attaches four hundred helium balloons to a backyard lawnchair and takes to the sky.  Jerry soars and soars... but will he ever come down?

"There is a confidence that allows it to walk to the edge of total cornball hilarity without ever losing its heart... The characters are well-drawn, the music is strong, the lyrics alternate between hilarious and moving..." - TalkinBroadway.com
